It should be made clear that this applies to new housing from January 2027. BUT it is expected to be rolled out by developers well before then. Many are already supplying the full package of Heat pumps, solar panels, batteries and EV chargers saving households £530 with solar and a further £100 or more with heat pumps. EVs are typically costing under £10 to fill the tank at home. As you may expect Persimmon is doing the absolute minimum and still installing gas boilers in nearly a third of their 215 houses on the Crown Lane site with Heat pumps in the others. We guess because the new regulations do not come in until the later buildings are started when they will have no choice.
